What this policy covers

Nepa Gardening ("we", "us", "our") is an Australian gardening services business operating across New South Wales. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at nepagardening.com and to any communication you have with us by phone, email, or in person.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

We collect only what we need to quote, schedule, and complete work for you. Typically that includes your name, contact details (phone, email, address), the postcode and suburb of the property to be tended, and any notes you share about the garden.

If you contact us through the website's quote form, we also keep a record of the service you selected, the date of your enquiry, and any timestamps required to handle abuse or fraud.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, prepare a written quote, schedule visits, send invoices, and keep records of work completed. We may also use de-identified booking data to understand demand patterns across NSW so we can plan our team and routes.

We do not sell your information. We do not send marketing emails unless you have explicitly opted in.

Who we share it with

Only with the people we need to in order to do our work — for example, our accountant for tax and invoicing, our payment processor when you pay an invoice, and any specialist contractor we engage on a job (with your prior agreement).

We do not share your information with third parties for marketing, advertising, or analytics resale.

How long we keep it

We keep your quote and job records for seven years to meet Australian tax and business record-keeping obligations. After that, records are securely deleted unless you remain an active client.

If you've enquired but never become a client, we keep your enquiry for up to twelve months and then delete it.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies (for sessions and security). We do not run third-party advertising trackers. If we add basic analytics in future, it will be a privacy-respecting tool that does not require consent banners — and we'll update this page first.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Records are stored on access-controlled systems; physical documents are kept securely.

No system is perfectly secure. If there is ever a data breach that's likely to cause you serious harm, we'll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct anything that's wrong, or ask us to delete it (subject to record-keeping obligations). Just email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first — we'd like the chance to put it right. If we can't resolve it, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
